Important Information About the Personal Data Your Bank Collects and How It Is Used
This policy governs the operations of CALIFORNIA REPUBLIC BANK referred to hereafter as "the Bank". At the Bank, the basis of each customer or consumer
relationship is trust. You are considering, or currently are doing business with the Bank, and we are obligated to honor that relationship with great care,
beginning with the information you share with us. We want to offer you the array of financial products and services you need to accomplish your financial
objectives and, at the same time, we recognize the need and desire to preserve your privacy and confidentiality. We believe we can do both through the
privacy policy and standards we have adopted which help to maintain and preserve the confidentiality of customers' nonpublic personal information.
Collection and Uses of Information
The Bank collects, retains and uses your information only where it will help administer our business or provide you with products, services and other
opportunities. The collection and retention of information is performed only for specific business purposes, and the Bank will define that purpose when
asked. Information is used to protect and administer customer records, accounts and funds; to comply with certain laws and regulations; to assist in the
development and/or improvement of products and services; and to understand the financial needs of our customers in order to provide useful products and
quality services. We collect the following kinds of information:
- Information you provide to the Bank on applications or other forms. Examples include your name, address, Social Security number, assets and income;
- Information we obtain about your transactions with us, such as account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage; and
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as credit history and information relating to creditworthiness.
Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information
The Bank does not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our present or former customers to anyone except as permitted by law. We may, for
example, disclose nonpublic personal information about customers to others for purposes of servicing their accounts with us, to government entities in response
to subpoenas, processing transactions that they request or authorize, or conducting credit or other verification checks. We do not disclose any nonpublic
personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law.
If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described by this
notice.
Protecting Customer Information
The Bank maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information
- Limitations on Employee Access to Information
Employee access to personally identifiable customer information is limited to those with a business reason to know such information. Employees are educated
on the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of your information. Employees are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of customer
information and those who violate this privacy policy will be subject to disciplinary measures
- Protection of Information via Established Security Procedures
The Bank is committed to the security of your financial and personal information. All of our operations and data processing systems are in a secure
environment that protects account information from being accessed by third parties. We maintain and grant access to customer information only in accordance
with our internal security standards. Access to your account information via the Internet is protected by a user 10, password, and 128-bit encryption
technology. Customers must apply for this service and become registered with the Bank for authentication purposes.
The Bank may link its web site to other sites. In no event, however, can the Bank assume responsibility for the content of those other sites nor their
policies for the collection of customer information.
Maintenance of Accurate Information
The Bank has established procedures to ensure that your financial information is accurate, current and complete. We also pledge to respond to requests to
correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.
Availability of Our Privacy Policy
The Bank values our business relationships, and wants all present and prospective customers to understand how we use information gathered and our commitment to
privacy. Bank personnel are available to answer questions about our use of customer information.
